We are hiring a Shopify Frontend Developer to join a North American Shopify Premier Agency that designs and builds custom Shopify stores for ecommerce brands with serious traffic. This is custom theme work, not template installs: you will build storefronts from Figma designs that thousands of people shop on every day, with a team that cares about clean code and a good result.

The role

The Shopify Frontend Developer builds the storefronts. You will own custom theme development across client projects: new stores built from Figma designs, new sections and features on existing stores, and the ongoing improvements that keep them fast and easy to shop. This is custom work on Online Store 2.0, with metafields, metaobjects and app integrations, for stores with serious traffic.

You will work with the designers on what is being built, with the project managers on priorities and timelines, and with other developers through code review in Git. You own the quality of what you ship, from testing across devices to performance and accessibility, and you will be trusted with larger and more complex builds as you prove it.

Build and customise Shopify themes with Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Turn Figma designs into responsive, pixel-accurate sections

Build sections and blocks for Online Store 2.0, using metafields and metaobjects

Test your own work across devices before it goes to QA

Work in Git with Shopify CLI and a clean review process

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of Shopify theme development
  • Strong Liquid, JavaScript and CSS
  • Experience building custom themes and sections, not only adjusting premium themes
  • Good knowledge of Online Store 2.0, metafields and metaobjects
  • Live Shopify stores you can show and explain
  • Comfortable explaining your work in English

Nice to have

  • Shopify Plus and checkout extensibility
  • React, Hydrogen or headless builds
  • Performance optimisation
  • AI coding tools in your workflow
